Voyager Spa FAQs
MOST COMMONLY ASKED VOYAGER SPA QUESTIONS Q, How long does the liner last? A, The warranty is 1 year but the life, if used as intended and the water chemistry is kept up, 15 to 20 years can be expected. Q, If I put a hole in it can it be fixed? A, Yes, we have simple mender kits that are also available at your local pool supply store. The liner vinyl is a heavier gauge then that found on your common above ground or in-ground vinyl-liner pool. It also has an anti-fungal agent in it to help prevent mold and algae growth. Q, How many people does it take to put together and how long? A, The first time you set the Voyager up, it will take you 20-30 minutes. Mostly one person, better two people for positioning the jet and equipment modular and for 5 minutes you will need three or more for the liner and installing the retaining bands. The liner is "pre shrunk." This is to prevent wrinkles and to assure the proper fit later. If the liner is cold and stiff, try and warm it up in the sun, this will make it more elastic. Q, After I set it up can it be moved? A, As easy as it was to set up, the Voyager can be taken apart. This is one of it’s many great features, truly "transportable" "take it with you" outdoors in the summer indoors in the winter, up to the ski house then down to the beach house. Q, How much water does it hold and what is it’s size? A, The average fill, leaving 4-6 inches free at the top (remember when people hop in they will add volume) is about 400 gallons. The Total fill is about 500 gallons. The Voyager is 6 feet in diameter and 34 inches deep, which makes it a big roomy spa. Q, How many people can it hold? A, 5 adults in comfort. Q, Do I need any special wire? A, No, a standard 15 amp outlet is all that is needed. This circuit MUST be able to deliver the full "draw" to the unit. If other appliances are on this circuit you will need to unplug them. The Voyager power pack, comes with a cord mounted ground-fault circuit interrupter, for your safety and protection. All you have to do is plug it in. Please, do not run the Voyager with an extension cord. If your outlet is on a long run from your service panel, you may need to have an electrician install a 20 amp dedicated line for the Voyager. Q, How about the water, is the unit connected to the house plumbing and hot water heater?A, No, you fill it with a garden hose. The power pack contains it’s own electric heater that warms the water. Like your house hot water heater, there is an element and a tank, here the "tank" is the spa.
Q, Do I drain the Voyager like my bathtub, every time I use it?
A, No, the Voyager is like a mini swimming pool, you maintain or treat the water like a pool but with much less chemicals. We explain the water routine to you in our instruction book. One of the beauties and economies of the Voyager is that you "save" the water and heat for the next use. Once the heater has warmed the water it only works to maintain your desired temperature, like a trickle charger tops off a battery so the spa is always filled and ready for use. We suggest that you change the water once every 2-3 months.
Q, Does it come with a cover to keep the heat in and the dirt out?
A, Yes, a light-weight, inflatable cover that also has 3 safety strap locks to prevent child entry and a strong wind from lifting it off. A foot pump is also included that can be used on other inflatable items.
